Ehemals in grauer Vorzeit ein Hafen, ist diese tief einschneidende Bucht an der Nordseite, dicht südlich Cabo Caballeria heute eine versandete Angelegenheit, ausserordentlich idyllisch, aber flach. Optisch offen nach N erlebten wir hier bei einem N8 ein Wunder: in den mittleren bis hinteren Teil kamen so gut wie keine Wellen mehr an. Das haben offensichtlich auch die alten Phönizier gewusst, die diesen Ort um 1600 v.Chr. als Hafen nutzten. Allerdings betragen hier die Ankertiefen nicht mehr als 1 -1.80m, Kielschiffe müssen weiter im Buchteingang ankern und sind hier mehr oder weniger dem Seegang ausgesetzt. So bleibt bei Nordwinden nach wie vor die allererste Wahl: Puerto de Fornells, bzw. die Ankerplätze in Fornells. !!

Nowadays, it is a shallow bay, depths in the bay vary between 2 and 0.5m, very idyllic, but extremely shallow. Although this bay is obviously open to N, we could see a wonder in here: in a N force 8, no waves came home to the inner bay, they rolled towards the bay, but stopped, before reaching the inner part! Obviously this was wellknown by the Phoenicians, who used this harbour 1600 B.C. Unfortunately only boats can use it, which need not more than 1 or 1.50m depths, keelboats have to drop anchor in front of the entrance, where there is more swell, But in any strong winds from N, best choice is anyway to go to Fornells. lists of pictures pictures of the bay !!
