Rally Rules
This is a summary of the Rally Rules in the Rally Document, of which a copy will be given to each participating yacht.

The Rally is neither a race nor a regatta and engines may be used as decided by each skipper.

The Rally is open only to amateur sailing and motor yachts, but not to chartered yachts or yachts with paying guests/passengers on board.
NOTE: Due to the on shore arrangements which may include free hospitality and entertainment, absolutely no charter yachts are allowed to take part in the Rally.

The owner/skipper shall assure the committee that there is no commercial relationship and that there has been , is, or will be no charge made by the owner for permitting his crew or friends to take part in the Rally

Each yacht must have a minimum crew of two at all times.

English will be the language for all the communications during the Rally. Private messages between yachts, not affecting the rally, may be sent in any language.

Participants are bound by
the International Regulations for Preventing Collision at Sea, laws and Regulations of Turkey and the countries to be visited, the present Rally Rules, Committees and /or Commodores sailing instructions.

The safety of each yacht and her entire management, including insurance, remains the responsibility of the owner or the skipper.

Yacht owners/skippers and their crew, are participating in the Rally of their own free will and at their own risk. Each owner/skipper is responsible for the seaworthiness and safe navigation of his/her yacht. The
decision of whether to start, continue or retire in consideration of the meteorological conditions present or forecast, or other conditions lies entirely with the skipper of each yacht. If retiring or delaying
departure from any port, the yacht must report her action to the Group Leader or the Rally Commodore. The owner/skipper shall draw the attention of their crews of the above before starting. There will be no refund of
the cost sharing fees under such circumstances.

Each Rally-Yacht must display the
National flag of the country of registration, a flag of the country to be visited on the main mast starboard cross tree as a courtesy flag, Rally and Sponsors burgees, and the Rally number.

Each Rally-Yacht must be equipped with a built-in Diesel engine, a ready to float dinghy or life-raft, a built-in 25 Watt VHF radio, a radar reflector, signal flares, all in reasonable working condition. The Committee
may check the rally yachts in respect of the above.

Every yacht participating in
EMYR2000,
Eastern Mediterranean Yacht Rally -
is sailing under the sole responsibility of the owner/skipper and her crew. The Rally Organisation Committee, Commodore, Group Leaders, Sponsors and Supporters, the Turkish Coast Guard, Managements of Marinas
and Port Authorities in Turkey and the countries to be visited, any person connected with the organisation of this Rally, bear no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or inconvenience to any yacht, to crew
members, to third parties or other yachts howsoever arising directly or indirectly from their rules, policy, courses or rulings during the rally or related activities.
a. DM-250- (two hundred and fifty) per person on board each yacht.
b. DM-250.- (two hundred and fifty) for each new crew member joining during the rally.
For granting reservation and safe planning of the Rally, participants are asked to complete and send in their
ENTRY FORMS
and to pay the cost sharing fees as soon as possible not later than 26
th
March 2000 to the Rally Committee at the address below. Payment should be by cash or cheque in

.

Applications are only accepted on receipt of signed ENTRY FORM and when payment of cost sharing fees has been received.

The number of yachts in the rally may be limited in which case applications will be accepted on first come first served basis.
